Ken Culshaw was born in Liverpool in 1951. He started his Ju-Jitsu training in 1968 with the British Ju-Jitsu Association under Soke Jim Blundell and at the Stanley House Dojo under Sensei John Blundell. Ken achieved his 1st Dan in 1977.
After moving to Hertfordshire, he continued training under the British/World Ju -Jitsu Federation banner, opening his own local club, training and teaching at the Headquarters and started teaching abroad. Ken finally formed Welham Martial Arts in 1995, mainly to keep true to the teachings of Sensei John Blundell
