SENSEI MICK GREEN
It is with deep regret that we report the sudden death of Sensei Mick Green who passed away in his sleep on the 22nd May.
Ken Culshaw, Mick Green and Pete Palmer were fearsome training partners for many years at Stoke Newington dojo under Chief Instructor Dick Morris. Shihan Culshaw fondly remembers his induction into the ‘inner sanctum’ as that ‘little scouser’ and the three became, and remained, good friends. They instructed students and continued their own training with equal passion.
After several years out of Martial Arts, Sensei Mick was coaxed back into the fold and, to the surprise of many that knew him, actually started his own club. He accompanied Shihan Culshaw on several training sessions abroad, particularly enjoying his visits to Munich and Norway. Sensei Mick always enjoyed the ‘end of season’ bash in Biddulph when WMA students gathered at Sensei Frickleton’s dojo for a course followed by a ‘good night out’!
WMA Students in the UK, Germany and Norway will miss his forthright and direct manner of teaching and attention to detail.
